Fr. LaWRENCE Soper

Father Lawrence Soper was named Rector of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Salem, MA on Nov. 4, 2022 by His Beatitude Tikhon, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of New England (Orthodox Church in America). Father Lawrence is a graduate of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York (M.Div.2019).

Father Lawrence comes to Salem from New York City where he most recently served as an Executive Assistant to Metropolitan Tikhon. Prior to this, he was an attached priest at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church (Serbian Diocese of Eastern America) in Paterson, New Jersey. Father Lawrence was elevated to the Holy Priesthood by His Grace Bishop Irinej in 2019. He was ordained to the Holy Diaconate in 2015 by His Grace Dr. Mitrophan (Serbian Diocese of Canada) in 2015.

He and his wife Matushka Adrienne have been married since 2011.
